No Dessert

I am the sort of dad that does not buy desserts when I do the grocery shopping. On the weekend I did the grocery shopping and hence there are no desserts in the house. Over the last few nights the children have all asked Kim, my wife, what is for dessert… I guess they know there is no point asking me… Tonight Kim has saved the children and gone out and bought desserts for them. She got them paddle pops to have after dinner.

For some reason I am not big on desserts or even entrees when at home. I am not sure if it me penny pinching or if I see dessert as unhealthy. I can be penny pinching at times and I think that when I see desserts I do not see value for money. However this is just my opinion. Then there is the health side of things. Most desserts are not the healthiest foods in the world. However then again there are healthy desserts too.

Either way I guess that it is not all about me and it is also about the children. So what do I do?

Do you see desserts for children as a normal part of a meal or is it a treat?
What healthy desserts have you come up with that your children actually enjoy?
Do you eat dessert?
